HISTORY & ORIGIN
How did GOCATH come about?
We love and live our faith. At the same time, we have all had to experience painfully how exhausting it is to search for those places - even if one is well socialized in the Catholic faith or grew up with the faith. The longing is great, but the search is tedious. And often these places were so close in the end. It doesn't have to be that way. We want to make these places visible and thus help to find the Beautiful, True & Good.
We started with this longing, found each other in circles of friends and acquaintances, and now work together as a Team online or on-site on GOCATH.
Since when has GOCATH existed?
GOCATH was first launched in August 2019. The relaunch took place in the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, June 2024.
What do the name & the logo mean?
GOCATH stands for "GO-CATHOLIC". It is intended to be an expression of joy and refers to the mission that Christ addressed to all of us.
>"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations." Mt 28:19
Pope John Paul II summarized this wonderfully in 1988 in his address to the young people in Salzburg:
>"In the name of Christ, stand up, go forth, get to work, prove yourselves as disciples of Christ!"
We want to fulfill this mission.
The GOCATH logo, which shows a monstrance in a pin, is intended to reflect that the lived relationship with Christ is the center and goal of our project.

ORGANIZER
Is there an event form like before?
Since we now place curated events on GOCATH, there is no longer an event form like there used to be. However, we are still very happy to receive your tips via the contact page.
Why does my event have a GOCATH pin instead of a picture?
Beauty radiates. Beauty attracts. Our goal on GOCATH is therefore, above all, to make the beauty of the event visually visible with high-quality, attractive images. If your event does not yet have a photo, we probably haven't found an image of corresponding quality yet. Do you have a photo that might fit? Then please send it to us via the contact form with a short reference to the event.
According to which criteria does an event end up on GOCATH?
Special places - focusing on the essentials.
personally curated On GOCATH, we primarily want to show you those places that we have experienced within our circle of friends and acquaintances as special jewels for our (faith) life.
vibrant places These are vibrant Catholic parishes and communities, these are places of silence and prayer.
catholic These are spaces where you can ask your questions, where the teaching of the Catholic Church is explained to you in all its beauty and fullness, and where you can make friendships and exchange ideas.
relationship with Christ These are the places where the essentials matter: Christ and your personal relationship with him. Without half-truths. In community. In the sacraments.
How can I put my event on GOCATH?
Please send us your event tip and your contact details via the contact form. We will then get back to you.
