World Mission Sunday
On behalf of the Pope, on World Mission Sunday, October 18, 2026, the entire Church worldwide prays and collects for the poorest of the poor in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. World Mission Sunday is the largest solidarity campaign on the planet. It stands for global charity to enable all people to lead a just and dignified life! This year, the donations will benefit children and women in Ethiopia. In the Tigray region, which was severely affected by the war, Salesian Father Luan remained by the side of the people, risking his life, while many others fled. Today, he accompanies women who have suffered violence, displacement, and traumatic experiences. At the border with Somalia, Sister Mary Joachim supports women who are marginalized, deprived of their rights, or forgotten. She accompanies them, strengthens their self-confidence, and opens up new perspectives.
