Knowledge Sprint: Risks and Side Effects of Home Abortions

Chemical abortion is on the rise worldwide. It is promoted as a gentle, non-surgical, and self-determined method of abortion. Is this true? At the latest since the ELSA study, we know: 96.5% of women experienced physical complaints after medical abortion. How severe are these complaints? Where do they come from? What education is necessary to enable treating physicians and affected women to implement adequate risk management? Answers are provided by physician Dr. Julia Kim, deputy federal chairwoman of ALfA.
