Catholic Youth Group in Hamburg – Wednesday Meetings
Our Catholic youth group in Hamburg meets every Wednesday at St. Sophien to live out the faith together, get to know Christ better, and build a strong community of young Catholics. All young adults between 16 and 35 who wish to deepen their Catholic faith or are looking for a vibrant Christian community are warmly invited. The evening begins with Holy Mass at 6:00 PM, followed by adoration and the opportunity for confession at 6:30 PM. Our actual meeting starts at 7:00 PM. The focus is on deepening the personal relationship with Jesus Christ and growing together in faith. Our meetings are based on four fixed pillars: Joint reflection on Holy Scripture Joint and mutual prayer Intense and vibrant praise Christian community in various forms – shared meals, games, and conversations Our weekly meeting offers young Catholics in Hamburg a place where faith, friendship, and spiritual life are connected. Hamburg Trip to the Prayerfestival RegensburgShort Vacation in Heaven Together with the youth from the St. Maximilian Kolbe parish, we would like to travel to the Prayerfestival in Regensburg. If you hunger for life, love, meaning, and acceptance, …and suspect that there must be more than what you know, then come! A weekend for celebrating, singing, finding friends, …and getting to know Jesus. You can find all information about the Prayerfestival here. The joint trip to Regensburg will take place in a Boni-Bus. Fuel costs will be split among all passengers. We start on Friday morning at St. Joseph in Wandsbek so that we arrive in time for the start of the Prayerfestival. On Sunday, we will begin the return journey after lunch, so that we are expected to be back around midnight. Depending on the place of residence and route, participants can also be dropped off at home. If you would like to be part of it, please register via the form by Sunday, September 20th. Bicycle Pilgrimage October 3 (2026)This year, we cordially invite you to our bicycle pilgrimage to Lübeck on the Day of German Unity! We start at 8:00 AM at St. Sophien and set off together by bicycle to Lübeck. Along the way, you can expect beautiful routes, good conversations, and a strong community. Around 11:00 AM, we will take a lunch break at Nütschau Monastery, where we can gather new strength for the rest of the journey. Afterwards, we will continue our pilgrimage and reach Lübeck around 3:00 PM. There, we will celebrate Holy Mass together, followed by a time of worship in which we praise God with music and prayer. Afterwards, we will end the day with a cozy get-together. Finally, we will travel back to Hamburg together by train. Hasselbrack Day Hike 2026On October 31, 2026, we cordially invite you to our Jugend 2000 hike! Use Reformation Day for a relaxed "ascent" of the Hasselbrack – at 116 m above sea level, the highest natural elevation in Hamburg. Don't worry, it won't be strenuous! :D We start at 11:00 AM at the Neugraben S-Bahn station and will make our way together to Hamburg's highest mountain, right on the border with Lower Saxony. We will arrive there around 1:00 PM, a highlight with great fellowship! Along the way, we will pray the Rosary together, exchange thoughts on faith, and simply enjoy the time together in nature. Feel free to bring snacks or sweets. The hike lasts until about 4:00 PM and will be rounded off with a Holy Mass followed by Eucharistic Adoration. The times are flexible; you can also join later, for example, only for the Mass at the Heilig Kreuz Kirche Neugraben. To conclude, we will let the day wind down comfortably at "Lily China" in Neugraben. Come along for a day full of community, prayer, and joy in faith! Don't miss out!
