Family Sunday
What happens on a Family Sunday? For several years, Family Sunday has become established at the Juvavum Education Center, celebrated every first Sunday of the month. The focus is on getting to know other families and exchanging experiences with them, celebrating Holy Mass together, and sharing a meal. To receive good suggestions and inspiration for their own family daily life, married couples and parents receive an impulse, while the children play and are supervised. Sunday, Nov 8, 2026, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Holy Mass, GFO case study on the topic "Marital Love – what we promise each other"; shared meal Sunday, Dec 6, 2026, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Holy Mass, visit from St. Nicholas – every child is called by name and receives a gift; shared meal Sunday, Jan 10, 2027, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Holy Mass; GFO case study on the topic "Relationship with my spouse"; shared meal Further dates in 2027 are Feb 7, Mar 7, Apr 4, May 2 (joint family pilgrimage), and Jun 6. On four Family Sundays (Nov 8, 2026, Jan 10, 2027, Feb 7, 2027, and Apr 4, 2027), the case method will be used this year, moderated by Markus Schwarz, a pioneer of GFO family work in Austria. This year, the focus is on the topic "Relationship with my spouse." GFO stands for Gesellschaft für Familienorientierung (Society for Family Orientation). What is special about the case method? It attempts to actively involve all participants in the learning process. The case method was invented at Harvard University, has found application in many areas worldwide, and has proven particularly effective in adult education. The goal of the case method is to learn how to correctly analyze parenting situations when dealing with your child or specific behavioral patterns in the relationship with your partner, and to objectively get to the root of the true causes of various problems, in order to act adequately to the situation and according to (childhood) needs, rather than reactively or impulsively. The case methodology allows for several correct solutions in many situations; a single correct concept is not developed here, because in parenting or relationships, there can often be different approaches to the same problems. Read more about this at GFO/Fallmethode.
