Introduction to contemplative pre-mystical prayer

Introduction to contemplative pre-mystical prayer The “contemplative or pre-mystical prayer” is a learnable, active form of prayer that leads into the silence and presence of God. It is a dwelling in pure perception, a “beholding” without discursive thinking, analyzing, or planning – one perceives what is and remains in the present. Central to this is the constant repetition of the name “Jesus Christ” in the rhythm of the breath, combined with awareness of the hands and sitting posture – this anchors the attention and leads deeper into the presence of God. You should try to have no other appointments over the two days and concentrate entirely on the exercises and the silence. - St. Rochus Mothers' Prayer Circle
Every Wednesday (except during school holidays), young mothers meet to pray together from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the chapel on the 1st floor: we begin with a hymn to the Holy Spirit, listen to something from the lives of the saints, pray the Rosary, exchange thoughts on a passage from Holy Scripture, and hold adoration before the Blessed Sacrament. At the conclusion, the mothers and their children individually receive the eucharistic blessing. Afterwards, there is an opportunity to chat over coffee and cookies, or for confession and spiritual guidance with the priest. While the prayer takes place in the chapel (at the end of the long corridor to the left of the church portal - up to the first floor), the children are cared for in the opposite 'Cardinal Newman Room'.
