Introduction to contemplative pre-mystical prayer

Introduction to contemplative pre-mystical prayer The “contemplative or pre-mystical prayer” is a learnable, active form of prayer that leads into the silence and presence of God. It is a dwelling in pure perception, a “beholding” without discursive thinking, analyzing, or planning – one perceives what is and remains in the present. Central to this is the constant repetition of the name “Jesus Christ” in the rhythm of the breath, combined with awareness of the hands and sitting posture – this anchors the attention and leads deeper into the presence of God. You should try to have no other appointments over the two days and concentrate entirely on the exercises and the silence.
