Catholic Youth Group in Hamburg – Wednesday Meetings
Our Catholic youth group in Hamburg meets every Wednesday at St. Sophien to live the faith together, get to know Christ better, and build a strong community of young Catholics. All young adults between 16 and 35 who wish to deepen their Catholic faith or are looking for a vibrant Christian community are warmly invited. The evening begins with Holy Mass at 6:00 PM, followed by adoration and the opportunity for confession at 6:30 PM. Our actual meeting starts at 7:00 PM. The focus is on deepening the personal relationship with Jesus Christ and growing together in faith. Our meetings are based on four fixed pillars: Joint study of Holy Scripture, joint and mutual prayer, intense and lively praise, Christian fellowship in various forms – shared meals, games, and conversations. Our weekly meeting offers young Catholics in Hamburg a place where faith, friendship, and spiritual life are connected. Beach Day with Mass and WorshipFancy a day full of community, sun, sea, and faith? Then come along to our Beach Day at Timmendorfer Strand! We will meet on Saturday, August 29th, at 9:00 AM at Hamburg Central Station and travel together to Timmendorfer Strand. There, we will spend a relaxing day by the sea – with time for swimming, playing, talking, laughing, and simply enjoying the community. In the evening, we want to end the day in a special way: At 6:00 PM, we will celebrate Holy Mass together, followed by a time of worship, where we praise God with music and prayer. Football Tournament in LübeckOn September 12th, the Lübeck parishes are organizing a football tournament and, as last year, have invited us as a group. We naturally don't want to miss the opportunity to show them what a well-coordinated team we are, and therefore invite you to travel together to Lübeck! Afterwards, there will be a closing get-together and the opportunity to meet young Catholics from Lübeck. Of course, we plan to win the tournament this year. We look forward to a fun day. Bicycle Pilgrimage October 3 (2026)This year, we cordially invite you to our bicycle pilgrimage to Lübeck on the Day of German Unity! We start at 8:00 AM at St. Sophien and set off together by bicycle to Lübeck. Along the way, you can expect beautiful routes, good conversations, and a strong community. Around 11:00 AM, we will take a lunch break at Nütschau Monastery, where we can gather new strength for the rest of the journey. Afterwards, we will continue our pilgrimage and reach Lübeck around 3:00 PM. There, we will celebrate Holy Mass together, followed by a time of worship in which we praise God with music and prayer. Afterwards, we will end the day with a cozy get-together. Finally, we will travel back to Hamburg together by train.
