Deepening Christian Faith
Starting September 7th, meetings will be held every other Monday at 7 p.m. at Herbergsgasse 7, Basel. Some meetings will include theology experts. Are you studying in Basel and interested in deepening your faith? A group of young adults is meeting about every two weeks on Monday evenings during the semester. We share a meal together, receive an input, have a conversation about a certain topic and end with a prayer. We intend to deepen our spiritual life, to share with others and to grow as a community of believers. At 7 p.m. dinner for whoever wants - and from 7.45 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. meeting with prayer, input and exchange. At 6 p.m., there is an opportunity to attend an English-spoken Holy Mass in the chapel. Short Retreat in Monastery Mariastein (near to Basel)Date: Friday, 27th - Sunday 29th November 2026 (Friday 4.15 p.m. to Sunday 2.00 p.m.) You are warmly invited to take part in this short spiritual retreat, which will help us to get ready for Christmas. Discover pray in silence in nature, with the group or in the beautiful monastery church and the Chapel of Mercy. Meet other young people who are exploring or deepening their Christian faith. Together, we will meditate on short Bible passages. You will receive impulses on meditation. You can also reflect on your life. The common language for the method, spiritual reflexion and Eucharist will be mainly English. The spiritual accompaniment is also available in the following languages: German, English, French and Italian. A short hike is planned as well - please bring good shoes. - Bible Study Living the Word: Faith in Action
Saturday, Oktober 3rd, October 31st, December 12th, 10:30 a.m. at Herbergsgasse 7 in Basel Studying the Bible is about discovering who God is and learning how to walk faithfully with Him. It draws on centuries of wisdom about who we are as human beings—and who we are called to become. This group will explore Scripture together, with a focus on discussion and reflection on how its knowledge can shape our daily lives. Each session includes a short reading, guided reflection, and open discussion. No prior Bible knowledge is needed—only a willingness to grow, ask honest questions, and consider what it means to follow Christ in a real and practical way. Whether you are a Christan believer or simply curious about Christianity, you are warmly welcome to join us.
